Deep Blue Sound : Abe Koogler, Arin Arbus
The Public

February 25th-March 29th 2025

Like last year's shimmering Grief Hotel, we get another Clubbed Thumb remount. A rare treat when runs are short, so enjoy this extension while you can. It's got whales, it's got life, it's got community. I think I will be very vulnerable during this one.

Off We Go : Reuven Glezer
The Tank
February 15th-22nd 2025

BIAS ALERT: Reuven is a friend and collaborator!!! Fans of Soviet and Eastern European cinema of the 60s and 70s should join me at this play, for a little existentialism in SPACE!

Staffer: Travis Amiel

***Note from Theresa - I would totally be at this show with Travis if I was in NY

The Van Gogh Show: Donna Oblongata, Francesca Montanile-Lyons
The Brick Theater
February 6th-9th 2025

Donna Oblongata was one of those friend-of-a-friend intros that really made all the wildest and wackiest sense and I am delighted she is doing her show at The Brick! Strange, thoughtful, absurd and sincere. It is good medicine.

and we, each : Michael Hersch, Shane McCrae, Ah Young Hong, James Matthew Daniel
National Sawdust
Thursday, February 6th 2025

Composer Michael Hersch’s fourth opera draws its libretto from the work of American poet Shane McCrae, an astute observer of love, and of trouble. Hersch’s music, which moves between spaciousness and furious dissonances, seems an ideal vehicle for these concepts. And soprano Ah Young Hong can drive a melody with both sweetness and force. This is the work’s New York debut. Come through!

SCAT!... The Complex Lives of Al & Dot, Dot & Al Zollar : Urban Bush Women, Jawole Willa Jo Zollar, Vincent Thomas, Craig Harris, Talvin Wilks, Cheri Stokes
PAC NYC
February 5th-8th 2025

Urban Bush Women create marvelous dance performances and it's a real treat that they are here in NYC! This show using live jazz to tell the story of the Great Migration will be spectacular and moving, I am so excited.

BrickFlix Presents HREAM & Space Lady : Film by Geoffrey Hug and Sophia Feuer about Doug Hream Blunt and Susan Dietrich; Curated by Toney Brown, with a performance by Mary Neufeld
The Brick Theater
Monday, February 10th 2025

I love BrickFlix. It has been a staple at The Brick since January 2020. This one is going to be unique, special and has a performance by Mary Neufeld! Are you kidding me?! This is the kind of thing you can truly only get in NY.
