Danger and Opportunity : Ken Urban, Jack Serio
East Village Basement
March 27th-April 17th 2025

Jack has a knack for directing works in intimate, intriguing spaces, and his new three-hander will offer the first time I get to visit a nifty new space, the East Village Basement. As venues close, it's refreshing to see new ones pop up. Also, Ryan Spahn is in it!

Amalgams and Graphts : Nick Cave
Jack Shainman gallery (Tribeca)
January 10th-March 29th 2025

We’ve one week left to get to the new Jack Shainman space to see Chicago artist Nick Cave’s most recent sculptural work. Let’s make time for it. This collection is so potent: the old gods, the vegetative, the domestic, the monumental, Black resilience and resistance, kitsch as archive and container for stories, violence, and hope. These sculptures radiate in their presence; photographs do not suffice. Come through!

Staffer: Joshua Dumas

The Brick & BrickFlix Present (in partnership with Left Voice and MeansTV): Solidarity and Labor: Films of the Working Class Struggle : BrickFlix, Two Boots Pizza, MeansTV, Left Voice, Andy Boyd
The Brick Theater
Monday March 31st 2025

BrickFlix is one of the best ways to come together in NYC. Fascinating films, delicious Two Boots pizza, sprawling conversation, and, this time, Andy Boyd singing! One simply must attend.
