The Republic: Socrates in the Meta-Verse : Jesse Freedman (full team below!)
Target Margin’s The Doxsee

March 28th-April 5th 2025

Jesse is always coming up with the most impossible, exciting and challenging ideas. I am always intrigued by the threads he is pulling on. I gotta say, I really miss getting to be right in there with him, discussing and dreaming and questioning and then actually fucking trying it. Which makes me say, with even more enthusiasm, go see this show! It is a brilliant thing to live in a place that continues to find ways to create paths and homes and communities around experimentation, new creations and unique collaborations. And Target Margin's The Doxsee is a great home to this kind of expansive artistry. Support the artists, support the space and have an experience in the theater!

Two Sisters Find a Box of Lesbian Erotica in the Woods : Bailey Williams, Emma Horwitz
HERE Arts
March 28th-April 26th 2025

I've been lucky to see two (very different!) iterations of TWO SISTERS... and can confirm it's not to be missed. Bailey and Emma are infectious together, and build up expansive / sneaky wormholes with so much deftness and buoyancy. Plus design from Normandy Sherwood!

Not.A.Show.To.Be.Missed.
PERIODS.
I (like Matthew) have seen this show develop over time, and I can tell you, because I got to sit in on a rehearsal (a whole different kind of artistic experience lol), there are more boxes, more eroticas, more shenanigans, more surprises. This idea started so simple and sweetly intimate… all those years ago… while it has maintained the intimacy it has definitely layered the delicate simplicity with satisfying complexity. Do not miss out on this absolute treat!

THIS IS A FACE : J.C. Pankratz and Dominique Rider
HERE Arts
Friday March 28th 2025

I love J.C. I love Dominique. What more can I say. This play makes me think about how far we'll go for our loved ones, and when artistic inclinations become high stakes. // "B, a potter, is content with their life as an artist and spouse until their partner, K, asks for a special commission. K, buckling under the grief of their gender transition leaving them looking near-identical to their abuser, asks for a vitally important, impossible creation: a new face"

Jordan Show : Jordan Coley
Littlefield
Sunday March 30th 2025

Cmon now! It's Jordan! Here's a live, late-night talk show worth your time. I promise. This month, Jordan's got Jaboukie Young-White, Celeste Yim, Martine Syms, and music by Yatta!

Just so you know, the show is 21+!

Big Feelings : Ryan Drake, Julia Greer
The Tank
March 26th-28th 2025

Step into a first-grade classroom where Ms. Joy will teach you how to handle big emotions. Sounds cheaper than a therapy session! Julia Greer is one of the most dynamic and special-to-watch young actors out there today, and I'M REPEATING MYSELF's Carsen Joenk directs. I'm sad to have to miss this one!

Staffer: Billy McEntee

LEKOL LEGLIZ LAKAY : Zami and Zarita
Crown Heights (exact location given upon completed registration)

Thursday April 3rd 2025

I always get really excited when I see what The Haiti Cultural Exchange is up to and this time it's programming part of their Lakou Nou Artist Residence program. Zami is one of their resident artists and is tapping into the queer Haitian experience!

It’s a workshop for 10 people where you’ll listen to interview excerpts from queer Haitians and use them as guides for creative reflection and discussion, and will create collages. The workshop “will invite participants to reimagine the three pillars for themselves beyond the traditional.”

Let’s prioritize those limited 10 slots for queer Haitians, please and thanks!
