As someone who practices applied theater outside of a production context, I get so excited when I see a bridge between performance on the ground and performance on the stage. This piece comes out of a workshop program that connects young Russian refugees and American youth, all housed in the NYC shelter system. When we say that theater changes the world for the better, I hope that this is what we mean.

New York Live Arts
June 13th - June 15th 2024

Have you ever seen a dance show with *a lot* of performers, and there’s one person you think “WHO WAS THAT, I must see them again”. This show about transmasculine experiences surrounding pregnancy in a dance and nightlife cabaret aesthetic, is from such an artist. I’m so sad to be missing this show, so please have a wonderful time in my place!

The Tank
June 12th - June 16th 2024

This new play, a “queer Jewish coming-of-age story,” not only has a powerhouse creative team but a stacked cast as well. Some of these folks I’ve been wowed by as far back as 2017 and I cannot wait to see these artistic forces come together.

I’ve worked recently and most closely with Sarah, and she is a deeply insightful director and she is incredibly attuned to the power of stories. I can trust that I’m going to care about what I see, care beyond myself.

Thursday, June 6th 2024

Das Ersatz runs until June 16th.

This is the kind of night I absolutely live for - opening night of a very special art show featuring 5 years of exquisite photography of a performance group that is always creating news ways, images and realities FOLLOWED BY opening night of a theater dance piece by Brooklyn's premier ambitious and absurd sweeties. And they are so close, I do not even need to get on a train. Both run for more than one night, so don't worry if you cannot do both Thursday. But you should try!
